Google Maps Scam

by | Dec 13, 2018

Scammers have found a new route for defrauding people. Since Google Maps allows users to submit changes and alterations to listings, fraudsters are taking full advantage of this feature. Banks are one of their main targets.  By switching their phone number with a fake one, customers are under the impression they are on the phone with their bank, thus releasing personal information to the scammers giving them full access to their account information. To avoid this misconception the best practice is to go on the banks direct website to find the phone number or to call the phone number on the back of your bank card.
