Windows 7 has become a Ticking Time Bomb as “End of Life” Approaching.

by | Mar 26, 2019

All good things must come to an end and ten years after Windows 7 was released, it too is nearing its end. As of January 14, 2020, Microsoft will no longer support or provide security updates for PCs running Windows 7.  Computers still running Windows 7 after this change will be more vulnerable to security risks (viruses, malware, ransomware, etc.). In addition to security threats, users are already seeing software compatibility issues.  Microsoft has established a plan to release security updates to those who don’t upgrade by January 14, 2020, but the updates come at a hefty cost.  Users could pay up to $350 per machine for an additional three years of protection.

So, while Windows 7 will continue to work after January 14, 2020, you should start planning to upgrade to Windows 10, or an alternative operating system, as soon as possible. We, at Iler Networking & Computing, want to help you make a smooth transition to an updated operating system.
