Improving Moral in the Workplace Environment Through Games
Recent studies show that light-hearted games in the workplace promote creativity, innovation, collaboration, strengthens relationships between coworkers, and reduces employee turnover rates. A study done in 2015, showed that 50.6% of employees were “not engaged” while another 17.2% were “actively disengaged”. Some companies have found that incentivizing employees with a reward system boosted productivity by over 30%! Gift cards and free lunches are a great incentive to encourage employee participation.
Basic team building exercises are forms of play in the workplace known as “gamification”. These simple games stimulate mind and body, which in return reduces stress, creates feelings of self-validation, and strengthens communication. Boosting confidence makes the employee feel valued and inspires them to think and work together as a team.
Keeping positive attitudes in the work force helps drive sales and meet quotas, when the employees are reaching above and beyond the desired task at hand. Taking twenty minutes out of the busy workday to enforce positive employee collaboration could impact your company in a major way. Interested in games to implement in your company?
